We review black box data to determine when the driver applied the brakes, whether the truck’s speed deceleration was consistent with working brakes and the length of time the truck took to stop. In addition, our engineers analyze physical evidence for indications of disrepair, such as leaking oil, shredded brake pads and threadbare tires, that can contribute to brake failure.
